Is whatnot a word? Last week was a doozie with the OAEA scholarship due on April 5th, the Marie Walsh Sharpe applications due on April 3rd, the Kurt Schrader congressional show art work due on the 5th and finally the Vans Custom Culture shoes were due on the 5th!
Here are the shoes we entered into the competition. We will find out on April 22nd if LHS is a regional finalist. If we become a finalist we will need your help getting the word out and getting people to vote!!!
Although the shoes are voted in as a group do you have a favorite pair? Why is that particular pair of shoes your favorite?
Remember this month you should be preparing all your work for the AP Art Showcase on the 18th of April (postcards went out Friday.) You should be photographing your artwork and uploading it to the AP site. You should decide which 5 pieces are your best, those will be entered as your 'quality' section. You need to refine and work out your two statements for the AP application.

All of the vans are so cool! I really like the deconstructed ones and the heavy metal ones.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pairs are the dragon boats and the heavy metal ones! The dragon boats are just really fun and colorful and the heavy metal ones look really finished and well made.
ReplyDeleteI think all of the shoes turned out great, but my favorites are probably the dragon boats and the heavy metal shoes. I knew the design of the dragon boats was promising when we were shown that first shoe a month ago. The heavy metal one turned out good too, and i'm glad that it wasn't completely studded where you couldn't see the shoe (just the right amount of studding).
ReplyDeleteI love the ski ones! I think it's because of the tiny little people that are on it and how they are completely different than the others. So cool!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap these are sick! I like the heavy metal ones the best because I just do. I don't know. How am I supposed to explain my love?
ReplyDeleteThe dragonboats are my favorite! Mostly because dragons are wicked.
ReplyDeleteThese are all really impressive! They're very nicely crafted but I would have to say the ski ones are my favorite! Do they still show the vans logo on them?
ReplyDeleteThey are all so cool! My favorites would have to be the heavy metal ones. It's such a good idea!
ReplyDeleteI think they all turned out really well! I like the dragon boat ones and the heavy metal pair - both have great craftsmanship :)
ReplyDeleteHoly nuts, I feel like I have so little time until the AP Showcase!!
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite ones are the spikey metal ones, because you might actually be able to wear them occasionally xD
I'm loving all of them. They look so good in the photos with the pretty backdrops and everything! My favorite is the art one...It's awesome that you can still see the shape of the shoe, but it's so notshoelike
ReplyDeleteI love the deconstructed shoe one it's so unique!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are the dragon boats. The details are great and they really look like the boats. I love them. Plus it is a more unique and unknown side of Portland! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pair is probably the deconstructed shoe; It looks like a Greek sculpture!
ReplyDeleteI believe these shoes are all going to be very successful and I really like the deconstructed shoe and believe it will be the most successful
ReplyDeletei love the deconstructed pair, its something i havent seen before, and it reminds me of marble sculptures, i have no idea why but thats how i feel.
ReplyDeleteHeavy metal is the coolest one for sure in my book.
ReplyDeleteI love the dragons!!! These turned out amazing!!!
